Description |
Recently, we demonstrated that arteriosclerosis in the smaller intrarenal arteries is associated with shorter telomere length, independently of history of cardiovascular events and calendar age. |

Conclusion |
In conclusion, our study suggests that there is an association between overexpression of intrarenal cholesterol biosynthesis, shorter intrarenal telomere length and increased renal arteriosclerosis in humans, although no causality can be inferred from our data. |
